Activists want govt to say no to nuclear

A group of activists from various environmental organisations took part in a march in Johannesburg to protest South Africa’s nuclear expansion plans.

Activists marched in Gauteng on Saturday against the country’s nuclear expansion plans, Greenpeace said.

“Members of Earthlife Africa, Greenpeace Africa, Justice and Peace, and Ceasefire formed the alliance with the purpose to raise concerns about the cost of new projects, the safety of nuclear power and the lack of transparency and accountability in the nuclear sector,” the organisation said in a statement…
