SA’s first utility-scale solar inverter factory opens

International power equipment supplier 3W Power/AEG Power Solutions has officially opened a manufacturing facility, in the Western Cape, which has the capacity to produce 200 MW/year of solar inverters, as well as electrical distribution boxes.

Situated in Milnerton, the 3400 m2 factory is the first facility of its kind in Southern Africa and its opening was attended by both Energy Minister Dipuo Peters and Western Cape Premier Helen Zille
