Multibillion-rand process under way to replace Koeberg’s steam generators

A multibillion-rand procurement process to replace the six steam generators at Eskom’s Koeberg nuclear power station, in Cape Town, has been initiated and the existing generators could be replaced during scheduled outages in 2016 and 2017.

Eskom, in response to a Parliamentary question posed by the Independent Democrats’Lance Greyling, said that it could not yet offer a precise capital cost figure as the commerical process was still to be finalised…
