Kruger park to replace geysers with solar water heaters, heat pumps

South African National Parks has put out a request for proposals to replace conventional geysers with solar water heaters and heat pumps in the Kruger National Park.

The park’s technical services GM Blake Schraader told Engineering News Online that three rest camps would initially be retrofitted, while the rest of the international tourist attraction’s camps would be supplied with solar alternatives over the next five years…

  1. It is great to learn that nature reserves and national parks are aiding in the green movement. Being environmental, they should be the leaders in reducing the carbon footprint. Another thumbs up for Kruger Park!!
