Now the US believes climate scientists: official

Times Live 6 July 2012.
The head of a US weather agency says extreme climate-related events in the United States such as the Colorado wildfires have convinced many Americans that climate change is a reality.

Many Americans had previously seen climate change as a “nebulous concept” removed from them in time and geography, said National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration chief Jane Lubchenco… “People’s perceptions in the United States at least are in many cases beginning to change as they experience something first-hand that they at least think is directly attributable to climate change,” she said…

(Editorial note: Sadly this will probably not percolate through to the politicians and big business – the filter of the powerful will see to that.)
